20 Mph Zones around Warley Village

March 6, 2012 in Calderdale, Warley Village

This year your Liberal Democrat team has been taking action on concerns about traffic speeds in our area. Cllr Keith Hutson has been at the forefront of arranging a series of meetings, including public consultation on plans to introduce reduced speed limits (particularly 20mph limits). I am very pleased to announce that these will shortly be implemented.

The new limits for rural areas will ensure that Warley village and surrounding hamlets are a safer place for us all to walk and drive around. Road safety is important for us all but particularly for the elderly and to ensure Warley is a safe and pleasant place to raise children.

The changes accurately reflect the wishes of all residents who attended the consultation meeting and submitted requests.

The new signage will be installed shortly.

This is just one example of Liberal Democrats listening to residents and taking positive action to improve where we live. In May I am standing for election, and I hope you will be willing to support me so I can help continue the great work your current ward Councillors are doing in Warley.
